Cancellation policies
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason a session is cancelled less than 48 hours prior or you don’t show for a session, the full fee will be charged.
Late to sessions: All sessions have a specific time, with clients before and/or after your appointment time. Therefore late arrivals will not receive an extension of time for their scheduled appointments and the original session fee will be charged.
Accepted payment methods
Payments are accepted through credit card, and under certain circumstances we can accept e-transfers, which should be sent to hello@trueresilience.ca. However, we do need a valid credit card on file at all times. At this time we cannot do direct billing for insurance. Therapists issue receipts for services as soon as payment is received. These receipts can be issued for insurance reimbursement
Accessing your benefits
Our clinic does not partner with insurance, but instead provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Following each session, you will be emailed a receipt with appropriate details for you to request reimbursement from your insurance.
Many employers and extended healthcare benefit providers will cover the services our therapists provide. Therapists at True Resilience Psychotherapy are qualifying or fully-licensed Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario. If your benefits cover Registered Psychotherapy, you may be eligible for full reimbursement. We always recommend you inquire with your provider to see what your unique plan entails.
Some questions we recommend you to ask your insurance company:
Does my extended health benefits include mental health benefits? How much coverage do I have?
Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much and have I met it yet?
Does my plan limit how many sessions I have per year? If yes, what is the limit?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for therapy to be covered by my benefits?

Additional FAQs
What if the rate is not accessible for you?
True Resilience Psychothearpy believes that anyone seeking therapy should be able to access it with minimal barriers. So our therapists are happy to chat about sliding scale options as well as to help connect you to a therapist that meets your financial needs if we are not able to.
Do you offer sliding scale or low-cost therapy?
Yes, we have sliding scale available! We believe that therapy can be so transformative, so our therapists offer a sliding scale to make therapy more accessible for folks who would experience financial hardship to come to therapy. Sliding scale spots are dependent on availability. Be sure to ask about your therapist’s low-cost availability during your consultation.
Will my sessions be covered by insurance?
Many healthcare insurance providers will cover the services we provide. Nearly all of our clinicians are licensed practitioners. If your benefits cover Registered Psychotherapy you may be eligible for full reimbursement. We always suggest you inquire with your provider to see what your unique plan entails before booking with one of our therapists.
Will my sessions with a student or qualifying therapist be covered by insurance?
It depends! Some of our training therapists have met the requirements to be Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying). For individuals who are covered for psychotherapy, these services should be covered. Client are encouraged to inquire with their insurance companies as to whether their sessions can be covered by a training therapist who is being supervised by a Registered Psychotherapist.
Can you directly bill my insurance?
At this time we do not do direct billing for insurance. Therapists issue receipts for services as soon as payment is received. These receipts can be submitted for insurance reimbursement.
On insurance panels, clients were still finding the full bill landing in their laps after we properly completed the insurance paperwork. Given the unpredictability of insurance coverage, we’ve opted out of billing insurance, to avoid any surprise bills to you.
