Ivy’s Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded, empathetic and non-judgemental. The therapy relationship is the core of the process. I don’t shy away from hard truths and stay open and curious to your lived experiences and how they have shaped you. I gently help you to uncover patterns that may not be serving you at a pace that is supportive and sustainable.

Therapeutic Modalities

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Somatic Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy

  • Existential Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (with consent and only at client’s request)

Why did you choose this profession

I bring a deep appreciation for how our family backgrounds and cultural expectations shape the way we move through the world. If your life has spanned different cultures or countries, I understand the delicate balancing act of managing competing expectations and trying to belong in multiple spaces at once. I hold a special space for women, parents and caregivers, who are rethinking the roles they play in their relationships, stepping into new chapters of life, and managing the relentless pressure to 'do it all.' We can work together to ease the heavy mental load of unlearning old habits and forging a new, more authentic path for you and your family.

What do you find most meaningful about the work you do

I have a passion for exploring human potential, and it’s inspiring to watch people overcome adversities and thrive. I believe in the goodness of people and I love helping others find peace, love, and a joy for life. I also believe that when you heal, you’re healing both the past and the future - and that’s what makes this work so meaningful.
