THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES WE USE

We offer services in evidence-based therapeutic approaches:

Who we help in Toronto

  • We work with individuals dealing with:

    • Anxiety and chronic worry

    • Perfectionism, self-criticism, and burnout

    • People-pleasing patterns

    • Guilt, shame, and self-doubt

    • Emotional reactivity

    • Trauma and painful memories

    • Grief and loss

    • Existential issues and meaning-making

Our clients often struggle with some level of disconnection- whether from themselves or from others. You may be ‘doing well’ by most metrics, but are still feeling overwhelmed and anxious, disconnected from your partner, and unsure what you’re missing. You might’ve tried strategies from self-help books or even therapy, but are still not feeling the lasting relief and change you need.

Our team of individual therapists will meet you where you’re currently at. You don’t need to have all the answers figured out, and you don’t have to want specific goals to work with us. During the intake process and first few sessions, your therapist will listen and collaborate with you to outline some goals to work toward in therapy based on what ‘feeling better’ means to you.

  • Teenage years are tough, and our clinicians understand that adolescence is a time with intense emotional change, identity exploration, and growing pressure from school, friends, family, and themselves. Our therapists works with teens to cultivate a supportive, non-judgmental environment to talk through their strengths and challenges.

You may be a teen struggling with demanding academic pressures in school, challenges with mood and motivation, and changing peer relationships, our therapists tailor their approach to meet you where you’re at. One-on-one counselling sessions may focus on building emotional awareness, coping skills, and resilience, while giving you the space to direct where the session goes to meet your goals. Our therapists don’t take the approach that they know what’s best for you, but to co-create a path with you to feeling better.

  • Our clinicians work with the East Asian Immigrant community in Toronto. Whether you’re a 1st generation, 1.5 generation, 2nd generation immigrant or beyond, the clinicians on our team understand and have experienced the unique mental health challenges you may be facing– the pressure to achieve and perform, feeling like your family doesn’t understand you, guilt and shame for not meeting expectations, and feeling alone in a new place.

Clinicians on our team both have nuanced lived experiences and the cultural knowledge to work on the specific dynamics. Through one-on-one therapy sessions, we help immigrant clients understand their feelings, empower them to listen to themselves, and act in their own best interests while learning to make peace with challenging feelings.

  • For couples therapy in Toronto, our clinicians work with clients who are trying to communicate better, yet those conversations never get you where you wanted. You might believe that if you could just communicate better, that things in your relationship would improve. This may be true, and our therapists will work with you around communication strategies. Our therapists also help you go deeper to address underlying dynamics that are often responsible for creating the real barriers couples face.

Couples don’t have to come to therapy with the singular goal of staying together. Our therapists work with clients in all stages:

    1. Working on staying together

    2. Discernment to find clarity around whether to keep trying or to end the relationship

    3. Managing separations amicably for all parties involved.

If you fit in any of the stages outlined above, we welcome you to reach out and book a consultation with our couples therapists
